I wholeheartedly support the Reject R-88 Campaign. https://reject88.com/
As a refresher, I-1000 was an initiative to the legislature which sought to re-institute affirmative action in our state. The legislature had the option of putting the measure on the ballot and letting the people decide, but in spite of overwhelming opposition during testimony the legislature passed the measure for fear the voters would reject it.
We are all humans and we are all individuals. The longer we focus on skin color and ancestry the longer it will take us to move forward and ensure everyone has equal opportunities in life, as opposed to equal outcomes which can never be guaranteed.
By rejecting R-88 we will prevent I-1000 from taking effect and prevent the use of race & ethnicity (among other factors) in employment and educational decisions.
I urge you to vote to reject R-88 in November.
