A supporter forwarded the following email from the Ferguson campaign. It was complete with a link to donate to Ferguson’s campaign, and I have no reason to doubt its authenticity.
“…We have just one week left until the fundraising freeze.
My pro-NRA opponent is working to repeal I-I639, Washington’s common sense measure to address gun violence. Those aren’t the values Washingtonians want from their attorney general — but because he’s not an elected official, he’ll be able to continue fundraising throughout the freeze.
I refuse money from large corporations. My campaign relies on grassroots donors like you. But with only eight days left until the freeze kicks in, I need your support today.
I can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done for this campaign and our efforts to stop powerful interests from hurting Washingtonians. I know that with your support today, we can hit this goal. I really appreciate anything you can do to help us now…”
Ferguson’s attempt to link me to the NRA might help him with his donors but my response was to shrug my shoulders. I have yet to receive any donations from the NRA.
Are you tired of candidates and public officials who easily wilt?
So I say this: If and when the time comes that the NRA, the GOA, or any similar organization decides to donate money to my campaign, I will gladly accept that donation.
Ferguson’s claim that he is leading a Grassroots effort is laughable.
Ferguson has raked-in over $2 Million since the 2016 election, and burned through an astonishing $858,303.89 which is absolutely insane considering the far-left and the media think he’s safe.
Your support of an independent, first-time candidate means that you are the Grassroots.
I haven’t had time to evaluate Ferguson’s claim that he does not accept donations from large corporations. He does however accept donations from labor unions and powerful PACs.
I have yet to receive a donation from any corporation, large or small.
We are clearly making progress even if Ferguson does not yet realize just how unpopular he and his policies are.
I know it’s the holidays and you have other things to spend your money on, but I would appreciate any help you can offer. I want you all to know that I know how hard you work for your money and because of that I am working hard to keep my costs down as much as possible, which means so far I have been doing most of the behind the scenes work myself.
No donation is too small.
